The processing time of Dalian shot blasting depends on the shot blasting effect generated by the workpiece during the shot blasting process, and the principle is to achieve the required shot blasting strength. (Usually around 30 minutes). Additionally, it should be noted that shot peening strength is now mostly measured using Almen's arc height gauge as described in the American SAE standard J442. Almen arc height gauge is a 70 gauge carbon steel with a thickness of 0.8, 1.3, or 2.4mm standard dimensions, with a hardness of HRC44-50. The sample is fixed on a special fixture, and one side is shot blasted. Then, the arc height of the bent steel bar sample is measured using an arc height gauge to obtain the shot blasting strength.
Both shot blasting and sandblasting can clean and decontaminate workpieces. The purpose is to prepare for the next process, that is, to ensure the roughness requirements of the next process. Some people also want surface consistency. Shot blasting can strengthen the workpiece, so the sandblasting effect is not significant. Shot peening is usually done with small steel balls, while sandblasting is usually done with quartz sand. Divide into grids according to different requirements. Sandblasting and shot blasting are used almost daily in casting.
What are the differences between Dalian shot blasting processing and sandblasting
Shot peening uses high-pressure air or compressed air as power, while shot peening typically involves high-speed rotation of a flywheel to eject steel sand at high speed. The shot blasting efficiency is high, but there will be dead corners, and the shot blasting is relatively flexible, but the power consumption is high.
Although the two processes have different spraying power and methods, they both aim to impact the workpiece at high speed, and their effects are basically the same. Compared to shot blasting, shot blasting is more precise and easy to control accuracy, but its efficiency is not as high as shot blasting. It is suitable for small and complex shaped workpieces, and shot blasting is more economical and practical, easy to control efficiency and cost. It can control the particle size of the shot material to control the spraying effect, but there will be dead corners, making it suitable for batch processing of workpieces with a single surface.
The selection of two processes mainly depends on the shape of the workpiece and processing efficiency.
