How to set fast and slow wire cutting

4. The guide roller bearing shall also be inspected and maintained daily. This speed can also be raised when the machine is normal.


The wire speed of slow wire EDM is 0.2mm/s, and the electrode wire makes low-speed unidirectional movement, with high cutting accuracy. The wire speed of fast wire EDM is 6 ~ 12 mm / s, the electrode wire moves back and forth at high speed, and the cutting accuracy is poor.


Physical principle of wire cutting:


1. Free positive ions and electrons accumulate in the field and soon form an ionized conductive channel. At this stage, a current is formed between the two plates. As a result, the particles collided countless times to form a plasma region, which soon rose to a high temperature of 8000 to 12000 degrees, and some materials were instantly melted on the surfaces of the two conductors.


2. At the same time, due to the vaporization of the electrode and dielectric liquid, a bubble is formed, and its pressure rises regularly until it is very high. Then the current is interrupted and the temperature suddenly decreases, causing the bubble to explode inward. The generated power throws the dissolved material out of the crater, and then the corroded material recondenses into small spheres in the dielectric liquid and is discharged by the dielectric liquid.


3. Through the monitoring and control of NC control, the servo mechanism executes to make this discharge phenomenon uniform.


Peak current, pulse width, voltage, pulse interval.


The pursuit speed will be rough and the pursuit of smoothness will be slow.


With the increase of peak current, the processing speed is fast, but the loss of molybdenum wire increases.


With the increase of pulse width, the processing speed is fast, but the surface roughness becomes larger.


Increasing the voltage can also speed up the speed, but there is an optimal value.


Narrow the pulse interval, the processing speed is fast, but the processing state may be unstable.


Try adjusting it. If not, check whether the power output is aged or damaged.


(1) I. regulation principle


1. When the height of the workpiece is about 50mm and the diameter of the molybdenum wire is 0.16mm, the cutting current is stable at about 2.0A (see the "cutting parameter selection table" for workpieces with different heights).


2. Selection of feed speed (selected by the controller): after determining the voltage, amplitude, pulse width and interval, measure the short-circuit current by artificial short circuit, then start cutting, adjust the frequency conversion gear and tracking knob of the controller, and make the processing current reach 70 ~ 75% of the short-circuit current.


3. During cutting, the switching of each state shall be carried out when the wire barrel is reversed or turned off at high frequency as far as possible, and the State shall not be adjusted greatly at a single time to avoid wire breakage.


4. When the new molybdenum wire is first cut, the processing current selects 1/3 to 2/3 of the normal cutting current. After ten minutes of cutting, it is adjusted to normal value to prolong the use time of molybdenum wire.
