Processing Plan for Large Component Shot Blasting in Dalian

Limited by size and dead weight, large steel structures, equipment frames and engineering machinery components require tailored shot blasting solutions for surface rust removal and scale elimination. Workpiece evaluation and plan confirmation at pre-processing stage. Place components steadily on the bearing platform inside the blasting chamber, reserving space for shot flow to ensure full coverage of outer surfaces. For multi-sided components, multiple turnover operations are arranged to treat bottom and inner areas hard to clean in one pass.

Process control during shot blasting. Check steel shot stock, recovery system and dust collector before startup. Conduct blasting according to preset parameters. Operators monitor cleaning progress, move blasting heads or turn workpieces evenly to avoid concentrated long-time impact on local areas. Keep dust removal system running to control dust concentration, recycle steel shots and sieve broken abrasives and scale debris. Reduce blasting intensity for thin-wall components to lower deformation risk.

Post-operation cleaning and component inspection. After blasting, move components out and blow residual shots and dust off surfaces with compressed air. Remove masking materials and inspect cleaning quality to check removal of scale and rust. Examine surface defects caused by over-blasting and record treatment results. Local supplementary blasting will be arranged if cleaning fails to meet requirements.

Finished product protection and delivery. Freshly blasted metal surfaces are chemically active and prone to re-rusting. Transfer promptly to connect with painting procedures as required by clients; temporary anti-rust treatment is available for short-term storage. Protect components during hoisting and transportation to avoid scratches. Sort processing records for customer acceptance.
