Formally, Dalian shot blasting is the process of projecting high-speed and long-distance objects onto the surface of parts through mechanical means, collectively known as shot blasting. It includes: peening the casting with sand and removing the drop of sand and core; Perform shot peening on castings, forgings, welded parts, and heat treated parts to remove surface black skin, nodules, oxide films, and rust spots; Shoot shot blasting onto the surface of various shapes of steel plates for shot blasting pretreatment; Peel the surface of decorative parts such as springs, steel plate springs, gear bearings, or household appliances and tableware with variable stress to improve surface fatigue strength.

The amount of shot blasting time depends on the shot blasting effect generated by the workpiece during the shot blasting process, and the principle is to achieve the required shot blasting strength. (Usually around 30 minutes)

Additionally, it should be noted that shot peening strength is now mostly measured using Almen's arc height gauge as described in the American SAE standard J442. Almen arc height gauge is a 70 gauge carbon steel with a thickness of 0.8, 1.3, or 2.4mm standard dimensions, with a hardness of HRC44-50. The sample is fixed on a special fixture, and one side is shot blasted. Then, the arc height of the bent steel bar sample is measured using an arc height gauge to obtain the shot blasting strength.

1、 Both sandblasting and shot blasting are surface treatments, but it does not mean that only castings are shot blasted, and other parts can also be shot blasted.

2、 The main purpose of Wuxi sandblasting machining is to remove surface rust and oxide skin, and the function of shot blasting is relatively more. Shot blasting can not only remove rust and oxide skin, but also improve surface roughness, remove burrs, eliminate internal stress, reduce deformation of parts after thermal treatment, improve surface wear resistance, and pressure resistance of parts.

3、 There are many processing techniques suitable for shot peening, such as forging, casting, surface treatment of parts after heat treatment, and so on.

4、 At present, sandblasting is mainly manually operated, while shot blasting is mostly automated and semi automated.
